Actress Araddhana R Sharma, known for her work in television, films and the digital space, has been exploring different opportunities throughout her acting journey. From television shows like Suhagan Chudail, Meri Sakhi, Hero Gayab Mode On and Rajni 2.0 to her appearance in the film Madgaon Express, she has continued to gain experience as a performer. Among the actresses she has always admired is veteran star Rekha, whose personality, screen presence and versatility have left a lasting impression on her.

Talking about her admiration for Rekha, Araddhana says, “Rekha ji is one of my favourite actresses. I love Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra and Rekha ji. I have always admired her, but watching her interviews made me understand her personality better. She is so straightforward and honest, and I find that very endearing.”

She further adds, “There is a cute, playful and almost mischievous side to her. She has this childlike quality, which I really like. I can relate to her because of how honestly she expresses herself. She has described herself as a hopeless romantic, and I am one too. She is poised, natural, humble and welcoming, and I genuinely admire her.”

Among Rekha’s many performances, Khoon Bhari Maang holds a special place in Araddhana’s heart. “That film has had a very deep impact on me. The way Rekha ji acted and transformed herself was incredible. Her character begins as a naive and innocent woman, and the transformation is remarkable. She is a diva, and that performance really stayed with me,” she says.

Explaining what she admires about the film, Araddhana shares, “For me, that is what acting and versatility are all about. An actor should be able to portray completely contrasting shades of a character. The variations she brought to the role were amazing. I love the entire story and her performance. I also love Silsila, but Khoon Bhari Maang is particularly special to me.”

Araddhana also admires Rekha for being unapologetically herself. “She has a very unique screen presence. She is bold enough to speak her mind and never shies away from expressing herself. I think that honesty makes her special,” she says.

Interestingly, Araddhana also recalls meeting Amitabh Bachchan at Yash Raj Studios during a shoot. She says, “I was standing right beside Amitabh Bachchan sir, holding a mirror while he was checking his hair. Even at that age, he was so energetic. I was so mesmerised that I kept looking at him during the shot, and the director had to tell me to focus!”

The experience strengthened her desire to work with the legendary actor. “I genuinely want to work with him someday. I have admired him for a long time, and I really hope I get that opportunity,” she concludes.
