From Motherhood to the Written Word: How Piew Jana Mishra Turned Life’s Lessons Into Two Books

Author and actor Piew Jana Mishra, known for her role in Krishna Chali London, draws inspiration from motherhood, personal experiences and life’s challenges to pen two books

For author and actor Piew Jana Mishra, known for her association with the television show Krishna Chali London, writing was never a childhood dream or a planned career move. Instead, it emerged organically from her life experiences, personal struggles, responsibilities, dreams and the journey of rediscovering herself.

Mishra is the author of two books, Nothing to Lose, It’s Time to Win Everything and Shunya: Becoming Nothing, Becoming Free. Both books reflect her personal journey and the lessons she has learned along the way, offering readers a perspective on resilience, self-discovery and the courage to begin again.

Motherhood brought a significant change in Mishra’s outlook towards life. After giving birth, she began looking at strength, identity and purpose from a different perspective. It was during this phase that she discovered the desire to express her thoughts and experiences through writing.

“Life itself inspired me to write,” Mishra shares, reflecting on what led her towards becoming an author.

She began writing after childbirth, often staying up late into the night once everyone else had gone to sleep. What started as a personal outlet gradually took shape as two books, with the entire journey spanning nearly two and a half years.

Interestingly, Mishra kept her writing journey a secret from her family. She chose to work quietly, allowing the eventual publication of her books to become a surprise for her loved ones.

For Mishra, writing became more than a creative pursuit. It offered her a way to express emotions and experiences that were not always easy to put into words in everyday conversations.

Her experiences of navigating responsibilities, overcoming challenges and reconnecting with her own identity became an important part of her writing. Through her books, she hopes to reach people who may be struggling silently, feeling uncertain about their lives or searching for the courage to start afresh.

Her message is simple: it is never too late to begin again. Turning personal experiences into meaningful lessons

Mishra believes that every stage of life has something to teach us. Her personal experiences became the foundation of her books, while the emotions associated with those experiences shaped the thoughts she wanted to share with readers.

For her, the true value of writing lies not merely in getting a book published but in its ability to make someone feel understood. She hopes her words can offer comfort and encouragement to readers who may be going through difficult phases of their own lives.

With Nothing to Lose, It’s Time to Win Everything and Shunya: Becoming Nothing, Becoming Free, Mishra has transformed a deeply personal journey into a literary endeavour.

Her story reflects how unexpected phases of life can open doors to new possibilities. Motherhood offered her a fresh perspective, late-night hours gave her the space to write, and her experiences provided the inspiration to share her thoughts with the world.

Through her books, Piew Jana Mishra highlights an important message: personal struggles can become valuable lessons, experiences can find meaning through expression, and sometimes, beginning again can lead to discovering an entirely new side of oneself.
