International Conference on Constitutional Jurisprudence Concludes Successfully at the National Stock Exchange

MUMBAI: In commemoration of the birth anniversary week of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the International Conference titled “Reimagining the Constitutional Jurisprudence in the Contemporary Era” was successfully held on 11th April 2026 at the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The conference brought together an esteemed gathering of members of the judiciary, legal professionals, academicians, researchers, and over 300 delegates from India and abroad, creating a vibrant platform for dialogue on contemporary constitutional issues.

Organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce for Affirmative Action (ICCAA) in academic collaboration with the University of Mumbai’s Department of Law, the conference aimed to critically examine evolving dimensions of constitutional jurisprudence in light of present-day legal and societal challenges.

The programme commenced with an inaugural ceremony featuring the National Anthem, lamp lighting, welcome address, and keynote sessions, followed by the presentation of ICCAA Icon Awards 2025. The academic segment comprised parallel technical sessions held in both offline and online modes, with scholars presenting research under the guidance of esteemed Chairs and Co-Chairs.

Hon’ble Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India, delivered a virtual keynote address, emphasizing the enduring relevance of constitutional morality in governance and public policy. Hon’ble Shri Justice Prasanna Varale, Judge of the Supreme Court of India and Chief Guest, delivered an insightful keynote highlighting the judiciary’s proactive role in interpreting the Constitution as a living and dynamic document capable of addressing emerging complexities.

Mr. Ashish Chauhan, MD & CEO of NSE and President of the Conference, underscored the importance of synergy between legal institutions and financial systems, offering valuable perspectives on the intersection of law, governance, and economic development. The valedictory address by Hon’ble Smt. Justice Sadhana Sanjay Jadhav, Former Judge of the Bombay High Court, reflected on the judiciary’s crucial role in harmonizing legal principles with evolving notions of justice, equity, and social transformation.

The conference was convened under the leadership of Mr. Sunil Zode, Founder & Chairman of ICCAA, along with Mrs. Madhuri Zode, Director of ICCAA, whose guidance ensured the successful execution of the event. Distinguished dignitaries in attendance included Dr. Rajeshri Tara Narayan Varhadi, Head, Department of Law, University of Mumbai; Mr. K. N. Pimple, Honorary Consul of Tanzania & CMD, CISB Pvt. Ltd.; Councillor Parveen Rani, Deputy Mayor, UK; and Dr. Srinivasan K. Rao, USA. The proceedings were professionally conducted by Master of Ceremony Adv. Bhagyashree Dalvi, while the technical complexities and essential arrangements were meticulously coordinated by Adv. Vedant Mainkar.

The valedictory session concluded with reflections from distinguished speakers, an award ceremony, and a formal vote of thanks, followed by high tea.

The conference marked a significant milestone in fostering meaningful intellectual engagement and reimagining constitutional frameworks to effectively respond to the evolving legal and societal needs of the modern era.
