Rohin Joshi on his ideal coffee date and why Sushant Singh Rajput would have been his pick

Actor Rohin Joshi, who is currently seen as Murli in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, is a self-confessed coffee lover. With International Coffee Day on October 1, the actor opens up about his coffee preferences, his go-to orders during hectic shoot schedules and a rather memorable coffee date that did not exactly go as planned.

Talking about his relationship with coffee, Rohin says, “I am most definitely a coffee person. I don’t need 10 cups a day to keep me going but I always enjoy a good cuppa.”

When it comes to choosing between hot and cold coffee, the actor says his preference depends on his mood and the time of the day. He shares, “I like both, it depends entirely on the season, the time of day and my mood. Usually I prefer a hot or a cold Americano, but I tend to experiment more with the flavours when I am having it cold. I love a good hazelnut or vanilla flavoured cold coffee with Soy or Oat milk.”

Coffee also occasionally comes in handy during long and hectic shoot days, particularly after a heavy meal. Rohin explains, “On the rare occasions when I have a big lunch on a shoot day, I need a strong cup of coffee an hour after to keep me alert. But it’s not a habit, and these days I tend to drink decaf more often as I have developed a taste for good coffee and don’t drink it for the caffeine.”

If given the chance to sit down for coffee with a Bollywood celebrity from the past, Rohin says he would have chosen the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He says, “I would have loved to sit with Sushant Singh Rajput and would have just tried to figure out how a person could be so talented in so many different fields, be a very busy actor, and a superstar, and still be such an avid learner. I think it would be more of a Q and A session with me asking all the questions rather than a conversation.”

For the present, Rohin names two personalities he would like to share a coffee with, each for a very different reason. “If you are talking about the present, then the two people have to be Acharya Prashant and Rahul Dravid. One is a childhood hero and the other is someone who has inspired and helped me beyond measure,” he says.

The actor also has a rather amusing coffee memory from a date that took place some time ago. Recalling the incident, Rohin says, “I remember going on a date some time back. It had been a while since I had been on one, and I was already feeling nervous. I hadn’t eaten all day and I made the brilliant decision of having a two-shot iced Americano at the start of it. I still laugh at how jittery, weird, and hyper I was. It’s safe to assume that there was no second date.”
