“I am learning to trust myself more” – Neha Harsora on personality, professionalism & carving her own path

For Neha Harsora, building a career in the entertainment industry, is more than simply being seen, or knowing the right people. The actor believes that one’s personality, professionalism, discipline and the ability to build genuine relationships play an important role in creating a sustainable career.

“Your personality definitely matters because people remember how you behave and how you make them feel. I believe being professional, respectful and easy to work with is very important,” Neha says.

While she agrees that socialising can help actors meet people and develop professional relationships, she does not believe in forcing connections simply for career opportunities. “I don’t think you should force yourself to socialise just for the sake of getting work. For me, the work you do, your discipline and the relationships you naturally build along the way matter more,” she shares.

The actor also believes in constantly working on herself. One aspect she would particularly like to change is her tendency to overthink. “Sometimes we spend so much time thinking about whether we did something right or what we could have done differently. I’m learning to trust myself more and not be too hard on myself,” Neha reveals.

Professionally, she wants to continue pushing herself and exploring different sides of her craft. “I want to keep experimenting, take more risks as an actor and not become too comfortable with what I already know,” she says.

On social media, Neha admits it is becoming an increasingly important aspect for actors today. She feels it provides an opportunity to connect directly with audiences and allows them to see the person beyond the characters they play.

However, she believes online visibility should complement an actor’s work rather than replace it. “At the end of the day, an actor has to perform. Social media can help you stay connected and visible, but talent, consistency and good work are what will sustain you in the long run,” she says.

For Neha, authenticity also matters when it comes to presenting herself online. “I don’t want to create a completely different version of myself just because people are watching,” she says, adding that while some parts of life are meant to remain private, whatever she chooses to share should feel genuine to who she is.
